Council of Governors
The Council of Governors (COG) is the most senior student leadership in Civic Leaders of America. Governors are democratically elected by thousands of students in their geographic region and are responsible for overseeing statewide activities and providing recommendations for national strategy with the Board of Directors. As the senior student officials in the organization, the Council of Governors is committed to advancing civic education, amplifying youth voices, and ensuring that every region thrives under thoughtful, student-driven leadership.
Council Chairs
The COG elected the co-chairs of the Council of Governors to become their leader for demonstrating exceptional leadership, focus, and reliability. The Co-Chairs are the organization's top student leaders. They chair council sessions, hold people accountable, and ensure CLA makes progress with a strategic vision, strong regional coordination, and a commitment to real, lasting transformation in conjunction with the Board of Directors.
